20 Turkey Tips in 20 Days: #18 Flow Time
April 23, 2010
by Brian Lovett, editor Talk Like a Turkey Speak turkeys' language with help from Editor Brian Lovett in the Talking Turkey Online Course. Turkey Tip #18: Flow Time
As a gobbler approaches, move with him. That might sound like blasphemy, but it's rare that a bird walks right into your firing line. You have to move somewhat to shoot almost every turkey. Some hunters call this "flowing with the turkey." If a bird gobbles to the right of your barrel, ease your body to the right. If he gobbles to the left, shift back left. As the bird appears, follow him with your barrel, and take the shot at the appropriate time. Discuss on the forum. See more tips from this series. |
